Walmart Inc. is an American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores, headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas. As of July 31, 2020, Walmart has 11,496 stores and clubs in 27 countries, operating under 56 different names.

The Problem

Walmart was in search of ways in digitalizing on shelf visions to their buyers, at the same time creating a single viewing platform between staff and customers to learn about features of products instore.

The difficulty of the program lies on consolidating the video contents of all suppliers, creating an informative content to buyers and receiving data for the number of activations playing in different contents.

The Solution

Upon fully understanding the requirements of Walmart, we have worked out a customized solution to digitalize the stores shelves. A 12” LCD Media Player with interactive buttons and a custom data collection software was embedded. A motion sensor would be activated when someone passes by and a designed video would be played accordingly in record of the last activation preference. It is an efficient way of pre-selling products without sales supervision. The software is able to record statistics of motion activated videos, patterns in interacting with videos, frequency of videos being played.

Glory Star 12.1” 8 button LCD Screen enabled Walmart to:

1. Attract viewers to the correct information with the motion sensor

2. Track and calculate the number of presses and activations and the type of videos being activated.

3. Loop commercial of the product for information and education purpose
